Reach the Bridge | Sunday, June 29 – Portland, OR
Unlike most runs and walks, Reach the Bridge doesn't have a huge crowd at the start line. The crowds – for those of you who accurately plan your start time - are at the finish line. That's right, Reach the Bridge (formerly Beat the Burnside) is Portland's only reverse-timed race. You've got to reach the Burnside bridge before it rises at 9 am SHARP!

Runners and walkers start at the World Forestry Center and run the majestic 8k course through Washington Park with a total elevation drop of 650' along the way. You'll be kept cool by the early morning breeze and the towering tree canopy along the paved roads as you pass by the Japanese Garden and through the Lewis and Clark Circle. After that, it is a heart-pounding rush straight down a closed W. Burnside to the bridge. You can see it in the distance – the clock is ticking - you're passing runners - runners are passing you... and for that short moment in time, you own Burnside.

Reach the Bridge is a fund raiser for the American Lung Association of Oregon. This is your opportunity to honor lung cancer survivors and pay special tribute to those lost to the disease.
Vancouver Waterfront 12k | Sunday, June 8 – Vancouver, WA
If you haven't taken advantage of running along the Vancouver waterfront yet, now's your chance! Starting in Marine Park, this beautiful 12k course offers many scenic views of the Columbia River. The flat out-and-back route will have you running on quiet paved roads and bike paths, making this an event for all levels of fitness. If you don't want commit to the full 12k, don't worry - there is an optional 2.5 mile walk.

The Vancouver Waterfront run is a great event for the family as it's stroller and dog friendly – just make sure to keep your four- legged friend on a leash. After your run, enjoy yummy refreshments during the awards ceremony. If you can, make a day of it and spend the afternoon hanging out in the sun in Marine Park!
Mt. Tabor Doggie Challenge | Saturday, June 14 – Portland OR
For those of us who own dogs, we all know how fun it can be to go on a nice, long run with Sparky. But rarely do we get to run in an organized event with our best friend. Enter the Mt. Tabor Doggie Challenge! In it's 6th year, this event offers a great way to spend the day in one of Portland's most spectacular parks, with friends and family, and of course, Sparky.

A benefit for the Oregon Humane Society, this event has two course options to choose from – an 8k and a 5k. Either way, both routes show off some of the best scenery around with views of Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens and downtown Portland. You won't have to worry about overheating either, as the course has you running along the beautiful and shaded tree-lined roads within Mt. Tabor Park. Make sure to partake in the awesome after-race party once Sparky is all tuckered out.
Mt. Hood Scramble | Sunday, June 15 – Mt. Hood, OR
Everyone is used to a little sweat and dirt during runs, but the Mt. Hood Scramble will have you getting down right filthy! (Note to self: Don't bother wearing running clothes you actually care about.) If you are looking for something more challenging than the typical 5k or even your basic trail running, this event is for you.

For fourteen years now, the Mt. Hood Scramble has provided jam-packed adventure in the form of hills, creeks, dirt, heavy brush and more. The course is approximately 6 miles but your main concern is just finishing. There will be plenty of water along the way, but think twice about drinking it…especially after you just ran through it. If you're one of the lucky ones to finish, watermelon and cold beer await you. WARNING: If you're worried about a little blood, you should bring your own band-aides. Then again, if you are worried about a little blood, this race probably isn't for you.
