Neal Peirce is a foremost writer on metropolitan regions, their political and economic dynamics, their emerging national and global roles. Among his recent books is "Breakthroughs: Recreating the American City."

Professor Cranz studies environmental sociology and the sociology of parks. She is the author of The Politics of Parks Design: A History of Urban Parks and has won awards for park design.
