TRAINED TRAIL GELDINGS

Join us at the American Trail Horse Association Competitions

Osiris, Fuego and Chris completed their 1st ACTHA ride at the Grasslands. It was a total of 14 miles with 8 obstacles. They made the Peruvian breed proud, giving observers lots to talk about.

Edgewood's ATCHA Competitive ride was an overwhelming success, with all 3 of the boys placing near the top in a field of 44 horses in our division! We had tough competition from many experienced riders on their trail savvy horses. But José's training on trail obstacles in the last week moved us closer to the head of the group. The course was a 7 mile ride through challenging terrain, up and down ravines, water crossings, a mailbox, and opening and closing a gate, Our undoing was the horse eating, blue tarp, laying in the trail that was a hole straight to horse hell ( according to Fuego and O). They crossed…. but it was not pretty
Christopher ridden by Jose was 6th while Fuego ridden by me was 1 point behind and Osiris & Dave placed with only 3 points less. Just a small 5 point spread which put Dave and I out of the ribbons.

The last few months have added miles of trail riding and Fox Hunting to these 4 geldings resume. If you are looking for a trail experienced horses come ride these well trained geldings.

All of the geldings listed below will walk quietly in a large group of horses, in the rear or the front of the group without fighting or getting excited.
They will cross water, carry a flag, open gates, drag logs, and ride with a pack of baying hounds. They are truly gentle and trail trained.

He has no bad habits, with lots of brio, just waiting to hit the trails with his new owner. In the summer Futuro is a striking buttermilk color, turning sooty buckskin in the winter.
