Danc'n in the Streets!!

February 20th through March 1st, 2006

Many people have asked me which is my favorite riding tour. After 5 trips to Northern Peru I have to say, this is it. The variety of landscapes, the magnitude and age of the ruins, along with the extraordinary places we ride make this tour the most exciting. Most people have heard of Machu Picchu and Cuzco, but the North by far surpasses that area in the number of ancient archeological sites.

World-class museums rivaling anything found in Egypt or New York can be seen in small pueblos, where we will have our own guide to explain
the history. Northern Peru has not been promoted to the outside world as a tourist spot, which allows us to ride through 2000 year old ruins, or stop for a visit with working archeologist for a private tour.

There are several people who have been on all our tours, for them this will be their 4th trip to the North but with so much of interest there will be plenty of new places to visit.

For the relaxers among the group, the Laguna Seca Hotel in Cajarmaca is a mystical experience.

Steam rising from the hot springs which feed the many pools through out the hotel,

Steaming pools, in crisp mountain air, excellent food along with all the different types of massages make this my favorite hotel in the world. I could be happy just lazing around in one of the many natural hot spring pools, drinking pisco sours, but the countryside calls to riders to come experience the winding lanes of the mountain villages

Carnavales is an event that is hard to describe, the quaint customs of each village are depicted in each parade entry. Riding through the country lanes you will see villagers building their floats, for Carnavales the "Rose Bowl Parade of Peru".

Riding on miles of beaches, stopping at the small restaurants along the way for a drink with the mayor, and visiting traditional haciendas are all part of the journey.
Half of the enchantment of our tour is the element of surprise at the unbelievable things we encounter. You will learn the true meaning of a foreign adventure.

Did I mention shopping!??! Pack light; you'll need the suit case room for all of your treasures. I know your probably not a shopper,
but trust me on this, I know what I'm talking about.

These are but a few of the events on past rides and we are always seeking new conquests, so join us in Feb '06 to experience first hand what we'll stumble upon on this new adventure.

As always there is the flexibility to do something different than the planned activity be it riding or visiting archeological sites.

Peruvian Horses will amaze you with what they are capable of doing; most of us do not really ride our horses. On this trip we really ride, 3 to 4 hours about 5 of 10 days, at a leisurely pace, through all kinds of situations. Rate your riding abilities so we can select a horse suitable for your level of riding. We have had many people who have never ridden, enjoy this trip on horseback. If for any reason you wish to dismount, we usually have a vehicle close by to pick you up. Food and drinks are served along the way also.
If you would prefer not to ride there is always something else to entertain you.
