BLURRED BORDERS DANCE FESTIVAL #17
TWO NIGHTS ONLY: APRIL 29 & 30, 2016
BLURRED BORDERS DANCE FESTIVAL returns with world class professional dance and a vibrant display of original, outside-the-box dance theatre featuring premiere works by Patricia Rincon in collaboration with two
international dance companies.
This year's Blurred Borders Dance Festival is FEATURED in the
San Diego Union-Tribune Spring Arts Preview as one of Marcia Manna's top dance pics for 2016.
* CIE DRIFT (ZURICH, SWITZERLAND) in collaboration with Patricia Rincon present “Clouds in My Room,” a solo dance theatre work performed by Beatrice Jaccard. A work about identity and
boundaries that explores one woman’s aloneness experienced through dreamlike encounters that are imagined, whimsical, offbeat, and bizarre — all while sitting in her room playing an accordion.
* DANZA VIRAL (SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, MEXICO) in collaboration with Patricia Rincon present “Threads.” This new work is inspired by the stories of the Otomi indigenous women of
Guanajuato, Mexico, their art-making, their politics, and contemporary life in an ever-changing world.
