San Diego Clean Enterprise Program
CleanTECH San Diego, in partnership with SDG&E and Mayor Jerry Sanders, is launching a program that offers qualified small businesses in the City of San Diego interest free financing for up to 10 years to fund energy efficiency
improvements such as lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, water and heat pumps and food service equipment. This program is an excellent way for businesses to make “green” upgrades while helping to position our region as
a leader in the clean energy economy.

Status Update: Federal Health Care Reform
The Chamber is a firm advocate for federal health care reform that supports improved access, cost-efficiency and quality of care for all Californians, without placing excessive burden on employers.
The Chamber Board recently voted to reaffirm support for the Chamber’s Healthcare Reform Principles, guidelines set forth by the Chamber’s Healthcare Committee that will be used to evaluate any new legislation. While the
Chamber has not taken a position to support a national healthcare system, these guidelines are a proactive measure designed to protect the interests of business in San Diego.
When the Senate and the House return from summer recess, they will continue to debate on the proposals in committees, which will later move to the full chamber for a vote.
