This week, more than 80 Chamber members, elected officials and business leaders are in Washington, D.C., for the annual “One Region, One Voice” advocacy trip. We are meeting with high-level federal officials to help
garner support for business-friendly legislation in the San Diego region.
Yesterday, we participated in a White House meeting on healthcare reform, met at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security with Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Field Operations Thomas Winkowski, and visited the Pentagon to
meet with Acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy Roger Natsuhara and Defense for Military Community and Family Policy Art Myers. We also visited the Canadian and Mexican Embassies for discussions on border best practices.
