The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Presents Winterwalk at Westfield UTC
The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Westfield Shoppingtown UTC and generous business community sponsors to create an interactive holiday experience called WinterWalk at Westfield UTC from Thursday, December 8 through Sunday, December 11.

WinterWalk at Westfield UTC will transform the shopping center into a winter wonderland, featuring festive holiday window displays, live musical performances, actual snow-filled nights, starry lights, fashion shows, classic holiday films, children's Art Wall and craft area, celebrity readers, special giveaways, and much, much more.

Each shopping corridor will be assigned a theme such as Candy Cane Lane and Polar Express. A special main stage in the heart of the mall will host guest performers, celebrity readers, fashion shows and other exciting events that will appeal to the whole family. Classic holiday films will play daily on a giant movie screen high above the Ice Town skating rink near the indoor food court.

The entire mall will deck the halls with sparkling lights, giant holiday trees and a host of other holiday-inspired surprises that will delight the senses and invoke the magic of the season. Store windows will be alive with festive displays, and shoppers are invited to vote for the top three windows. Participants are eligible to receive Westfield gift cards and other prizes.

Each day, local artists, community groups, children and celebrities will perform on the main stage. Celebrity Readers, including Chargers and Padres players, local authors and other famous personalities will read popular holiday classics daily on the main stage. Each story time will feature a book giveaway for all children in attendance.

Reminiscent of the holiday season in New York City, WinterWalk will be the ultimate December experience for the entire family. Sponsored by a group of local businesses, WinterWalk at Westfield UTC is a gift to the San Diego community and encourages residents to do their shopping in San Diego.

WinterWalk at Westfield UTC will include toy donation locations, and other items, such as gift cards, will be collected and distributed to area shelters each day. Other beneficiaries include the San Diego Children's Museum and local military families.

Westfield UTC is located at 4545 La Jolla Village Drive between the 5 and 805 freeways. Additional parking for WinterWalk will be available adjacent to the mall, across La Jolla Village Drive, in designated parking lots for $1. Proceeds from off-site parking will benefit the San Diego Children's Museum.

WinterWalk sponsors include SDG&E, Wells Fargo, American Medical Response, Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Donovan's, DPR Construction, Sharp HealthCare and KFMB. Special contributors include Farm Advertising, ACE Parking and Strategic Communications.

For more information about WinterWalk at Westfield UTC, please contact Sandra Wellhausen at (619) 544-1364 or Michele Predko at (858) 453-2930.
