Today, I am in Tijuana at the Museo El Trompo Interactivo for a meeting of the Chamber's Mexico Business Center Advisory Board.

We are meeting newly elected members of Mexico's Federal Congressional delegation (Chamber of Deputies) to discuss issues such as reducing border wait times and improving commerce in our bi-national region.

Earlier today I visited the offices of San Diego News Network, who provides a valuable source of news about San Diego.   Read their article quoting Chamber member Bill Trumpfheller of Nuffer Smith Tucker on ways small businesses can use social media tools.

Yesterday, I was on San Diego Bay for the Port of San Diego's groundbreaking of the Broadway Pier Cruise Ship Terminal.  This is good news for our region's economy, as each ship brings in $2 million dollars of economic activity to San Diego.

Last night, Chamber Public Policy Executive Director Angelika Villagrana was at the Convention Center Task Force meeting advocating for expansion of the convention center. This expansion can produce positive economic impacts for our region, including new jobs in San Diego.

As always, please feel welcome to contact me with questions or suggestions at president@sdchamber.org.
