One issue that CityBeat (and, hopefully our readers) is passionate about is a woman's right to choose what happens to her body. And, in our opinion, Planned Parenthood is one of the leading voices in the battle for reproductive
rights and safe-sex education. Show the nonprofit some love from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, when it hosts Cocktails for Choice at Mosaic Wine Bar (3422 30th St. in North Park). The cost is $20 at the door and includes

It's not often that San Diego's included in the same sentence as more, well, cosmopolitan cities like New York, London and L.A. But, thanks to The Loft @ UCSD's San Diego-by-way-of-London curator, Liz Bradshaw, this week S.D. gets
its own Club NME. Named after the taste-making British music magazine, Club NME nights (you can find them in 13 cities around the world) are known to feature up-and-coming bands and DJs. On Sunday, Nov. 15, check out Brooklyn
band The Drums (see Nathan Dinsdale's feature on the band in this week's issue) with openers Dash Jacket and DJ Skullcrusher. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
