DIGABLE VEGGIES
A couple of weeks ago, a friend who was going on vacation offered up her weekly box of vegetables from Suzie's Farm, a local organic grower. Damn! For only $25 a week, that box had enough veggies to feed a posse of rabbits for a
week. Suzie's is one of a small handful of CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, providers in the county. The way it works is this: you pay an initial membership fee of $20 and then $25 for each box of locally grown vegetables,
available for pickup weekly or biweekly at 14 locations throughout the county. Each box comes with a list of what's insidein case you're not an all-star vegetable identifier. And, Suzie's offers recipes on their websitewhere you can also

DIGABLE RE-USE
You may have seen Bottle Hood's work at local restaurants like Sea Rocket Bistro, Urban Solace or Cantina Mayahuel. The new business' concept's quite brilliant: take a glass bottlewhether it be wine, vodka, sparkling water or
whatever else is kept in bottlescut it down, then file the top edges until they're smooth to create a tumbler, a vase or candle holder. The result is really quite cool, especially if there's something unique about the source material (like
an old-timey gin bottle, for instance). The Bottle Hood folks will be displaying their wares at Sea Rocket (3382 30th St.) this Saturday evening, Nov. 21, and, if you buy a bottle of beer or wine, Bottle Hood will turn it into a
vase for $10.

DIGABLE DESIGN
We fell in love with Stubborn Works a few years agothe understated-yet-cool, resin-filled sculpted-metal jewelry line by former architect Melissa Stiles. Sadly, there didn't seem to be any place locally to buy her work. Sometime
between then and now, Stiles hooked up with Trios Gallery in Solana Beach (404 North Cedros Ave.), which specializes in handmade items by U.S. artists. Check out Stiles' stuff at www.stubbornworks.com, or cruise over to Trios to see
