We're happy to report that our very first Clinica Verde Auction was a solid success. More than 160 attended the sold-out event, which was hosted by U.S. Ambassador to Nicaragua Robert J. Callahan and held at Solage Resort in Calistoga, California. And, we achieved our net goal of $200,000. Check our photos of the evening on Facebook here.

Now, we can move forward with completing the clinic, equipping the exam rooms, and preparing for operation. There is much work ahead – and we promise to put every donor dollar to careful use. Thanks to the many generous donors whose support has made our work possible. You will forever be a part of our work in the world.

We'll continue to raise money for targeted medical equipment and clinic programs. So, please keep us in mind for your end-of-the-year giving!

Here's a quick overview of needs:

• Equipping the clinic facility, including furniture, will cost approximately $50,000. We are working with a great organization called IMEC to help us meet the basic needs.

• Beginning pharmacy costs are conservatively estimated at $10,000.

• Operating costs are estimated at $160,000 per year.

• We'd like to procure 2 Ultrasounds. A single high-quality Ultrasound can be obtained for about $50,000. If you know an organization who can donate an Ultrasound, please let us know!

•Once we are able to provide clinical services, we will add programs on nutrition education. This will also involve our working garden.
