Thanks for Supporting the Clinica Verde Auction at Solage!

Clinica Verde's Second Annual Auction at Solage Resort in Calistoga, California was a big success for our project – thanks to committed supporters in the Napa Valley and beyond. The event raised over $172,000 to help us open and operate our clinic in Boaco, Nicaragua – support we depend on to carry on our work in the world.

For those of you who couldn't make it, you can check out our auction video here: Watch our Auction Video.

Thanks to the fabulous supporters who came from near and far to celebrate and honor the work of Clinica Verde to provide health and hope to women and children living in poverty.

What's Going On in Nicaragua?

As we work to raise awareness and support in the U.S., a lot of activity is taking place in Nicaragua. Our dedicated team in Managua and Boaco are working hard to keep our project moving forward. Here are some highlights of our progress:

• The American Nicaraguan Foundation inspected the clinic on Oct. 4 to approve us for receiving medications and support through their incredible foundation. Thanks, ANF!

• The Ministry of Health is scheduled to visit and inspect the clinic within the next couple of weeks.

• Recommended personnel are being reviewed by our legal rep in Nicaragua, Rafael Morales, and Clinica Verde Board Vice-Chair, Dr. Elquis Castillo.

• Former Minister of Health of Nicaragua and CV Board Member Margarita Gurdian is in Nicaragua following an assignment with USAID in Angola, and is meeting with officials and CV team members to review goals and action items prior to clinic opening.

• CV volunteer Jennifer Owen is in Boaco helping with clinic setup. Meet Jennifer below!

We are moving forward!

I'd like to help you keep moving forward. How can I donate to your cause?

Meet Awesome CV Volunteer Jennifer Owen ...

This month Clinica Verde in Boaco welcomes volunteer Jennifer Owen, who will spend October helping out on the ground in Nicaragua. Jennifer is an attorney practicing in clean energy technologies and energy policy. She served at the Department of Energy as Director of the Office of Technology Advancement and Outreach in DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and was a Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Conrad Burns (R-MT) and a staff member on the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Says Jennifer: "As an advocate for clean energy technologies in the U.S., I am excited to see Clinica Verde demonstrate sustainable building in a real world scenario. I hope to help the clinic move forward to opening, and provide whatever help I can. The mission of the clinic is so important - I feel very blessed to have an opportunity to meet the people of Boaco and support Clinica Verde!"

We are honored to have Jennifer's commitment and support!

Thank You, Corporate Home By Owner!

Last month, Corporate Home By Owner, which connects individual property owners offering short-term, furnished and unfurnished rentals with potential renters across America, kicked off its "CHBO Gives Back" campaign with Clinica Verde. For every new customer or renewal in the month of September, CHBO designated $1 to Clinica Verde. Said CHBO CEO Kimberly Smith: "CHBO is honored to be sharing in Clinica Verde's mission and practical application of health and wellness. While CHBO focuses on finding solutions for property owners and renters, we are also aware housing is just one of many struggles people around the world face. CHBO believes there are solutions we can all support that will result in the improved health, wellness and prosperity around the world."

Thanks to Kimberly and CHBO for their support and advocacy for our work in the world!
