PostCard from the Trenches
Some amusing quips about Arnold, the"Gover-nator"...
o "I have no idea what that was about, unless it was a genetic experiment to breed a bullet-proof Kennedy." Comedian Will Durst, on Schwarzenegger's marriage to Maria Shriver
o "Arnold Schwarzenegger is in some trouble. Today, the Los Angeles Times broke a story that quoted six women who claimed that Arnold Schwarzenegger sexually harassed them. When asked about it, President Clinton said 'six? That's not
enough experience to be governor."' Conan O'Brien
For some of you die-hard kart racing fans, GoKartRacer(
http://gokartracer.com), the newest, largest indoor facility in the SF Bay area will open thisDecember in Burlingame. Unlike SpeedRing (santa clara) and LeMans Karting (fremont), GoKart Racer has *two* tracks with elevation changes that each accommodate 11 racers at a time. These tracks can be joined to create one 3/8-mile long track for
serious racing with the 9hp Honda motor powered Karts. Word has it that the owners spent nearly $10 million in building it.
Hmm, an interesting term for the unadventurous or picky eater who only prefer basic American staples..."culinary racist"...thanks, Richard Y....FCH and I took our first ukelele lessons together...fun and easy to pick up, but
we were a bit embarassed at first to have to sing along to our songs...Nope, you won't be seeing us perform live anytime soon...And a few of us women surfers recently did some moonlight surfing in Santa Cruz with our glow sticks on
at 11pm about 10 days ago...fun, long, waist-chest hight+ rides at the Hook...warm air temps and glassy waves made it magical, but a good-sized sea otter did startle us in the lineup at first...
